Title: Duccio. The beginnings of Sienese Painting

Exhibition Project: The exhibition shows about a hundred works (paintings, miniatures, sculptures, jewellery, glass-windows) and is divided in the following sections:

  1. Duccio precursories and contemporaries
  2. Cimabue, Duccio, the young Giotto
  3. The path of Duccio
  4. Artists influenced by Duccio: the first generation
  5. Artists influenced by Duccio: the second generation
  6. Artists influenced by Duccio: the third generation
  7. Debut of the greatest 14th Century artists following the style of Duccio
  8. The ways of the Gothic style in Siena: sculptors and jewellers

There is a very special visit itinerary to Duccio (and his crew) wall-paintings still viewable in monumental buildings and inside a few churces in Siena and in the surroundings.

This exhibition is dedicated to Enzo Carli.
